A recent article on "Il Sole 24 ore" describes the importance of the role of Project Managers and highlights how, in our country, these professionals are unfortunately still not very common.

If Italy is famous for the skills of its designers, we can’t say the same for the ability they have to respect  times and budgeted costs, both for large public works but, in many cases, also for private ones.

A greater involvement of Project Managers in the construction sector could certainly make this situation better: their main task is indeed to make sure that the specific objectives of a project are achieved, for sure in terms of costs and times, but also in relation to the satisfaction of the client's needs with respect to her expectations towards the project.

At the beginning Project Managers only came into play once the project was defined, mainly dealing with the operational aspects related to the planning and management of the project activities.
